Welcome to DaniNoir.com

Welcome to the official website for the tween novel Dani Noir (out in stores Sept. 22)! I’ll be keeping this page updated with news about the book and upcoming events, and be sure to peek through the rest of the site for special extras.

On the site so far…

  • You can ask yourself “What would Rita Hayworth do?” and read the first chapter.
  • You can find out what my name means, why I’ve been known to hide out in bathroom stalls, and how this all came about thanks to ghostwriting, by reading all about me.
  • You can download the widget for your blog or website. It’s counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds till you can buy the book in stores.
  • And you can hear what people are saying about the book—very, very important people like reviewers and my mom.

And coming soon…

  • You’ll be able to take a quiz on how well you know our heroine, Dani Callanzano.
  • You’ll be able to watch the book trailer—it’s in the works!
  • You’ll find some more cool stuff, dunno what yet, or maybe I’m not telling yet because I want to reveal it later, YOU CAN’T KNOW FOR SURE.

As the pub date quickly approaches, I’m keeping busy with important things. Like being really (really!) nervous, and scouring the city for the perfect pair of polka-dot tights. Why polka dots? The mystery girl in Dani Noir wears them. What else could I possibly wear on September 22?

If there’s anything you’d like to see here, let me know. And if you’ve spotted a good pair of spotted tights? EMAIL ME ASAP. I could be convinced to wear polka dots every day for the rest of 2009.

And, last but not least, I just have to tell my web designer (the cute boy I live with) what an AWESOME job he did building this website for me. I especially love how the cover fades from black when you first visit the site and I adore the quick snap of Dani that comes up when pages are loading.

For even more updates, you can visit the Dani Noir Facebook page and, if you want, become a fan.

I’ll leave you with this:

That’s Dani, hiding out around the corner while the girl in the polka-dot tights hurries away into the night. Why is Dani spying? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
